Thank you!

We would like to thank everyone for praying for Kathy and the family at this difficult time.  The notes and cards were a great encouragement and blessing.  We especially appreciate all of the prayers for Kathy and the family.  The Lord really gave Kathy grace during this time.  Her dad was buried last Friday.  I was told that the funeral was very nice, and that the gospel was given.  Kathy is staying with her mother until she comes back home on March 12.  I have placed a copy of the obituary below…

Omer Lee Bennett, 74, of Lebanon, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 24, 2009, in his home, near Lebanon.

He was born April 22, 1934, near Nebo, Mo. to Clarence Lee and Della Maude Sherrell Bennett, who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by a son, Steve Bennett, and two grandsons, Bryant Hoffman and Christopher Bennett.

On Nov. 8, 1957, he married Helen Louise Brown.

He had worked for United Amusement Company for more than 15 years and then did welding work for various boat companies spending several years at Appleby Boats, and then was a self-employed gunsmith and welder for the last 10 years.

He had made his profession of faith in Christ and had attended the Prosperine Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Helen, of the home; three daughters, Judy Carmichael, of Springfield; Kathy Jewell, of the Dominican Republic; Teresa Sherrer, of Lebanon; six sons, Mike, Mark, Tim, Larry and Terry “Teddy’’ Bennett, all of Lebanon; Kevin Bennett, of Nixa; 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services for Omer Lee Bennett will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Sheets officiating.

Burial will be in the McBride Cemetery, near Competition, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
